Load Management
LOAD MANAGEMENT
This one day course can be delivered on your premises, in your locality or at the main Via office in Chorley.
One day courses start at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm, with a break for lunch.
A sandwich van comes in the morning or you can bring your own lunch.
This course can be accessed by anyone who wishes to enrol, whether it is relevant to your job role or simply to increase your knowledge. The trainers are all qualified experienced Practitioners and have access to a range of equipment to make the training more interesting and inclusive.
The course includes PowerPoint presentations, demonstration and practical sessions, however if your physical limitations mean you are unable to participate in the practical sessions this does not prevent attendance on the course.
The course provides the underpinning knowledge of a number of units in the QCF level 2 & 3 Diplomas in Health & Social Care and Children’s Workforce Development, the related Certificates and the level 2 Certificate in Assisting and Moving Individuals in a social care setting. The 1st 2 sessions are offered to individuals whose job role does not included assisting and moving individuals only inanimate objects.
Topics covered during the day include:
- Definitions of moving and handling
- Causes of back pain
- Anatomy and physiology of the spine
- Ergonomics & Biomechanics
- Inanimate object moving
- Current legislation, polices & processes
- Risk assessment
- Demonstration of good practice
- Use of equipment
- Recording and reporting
A certificate of attendance is issued for the full and ½ day sessions.
Also available is accredited to the QC Framework units at an extra cost on completion of an assignment.
